Hey ladies!
I had the idea mid-year last year to come up with a new warmblood breed to introduce to the sim community. Yes, this is deviating from the realism that we all strive for.. But whose to say that this couldn't become a breed? I had bigger things on my plate last year to deal with and so the idea was put on the back burner.
With the New Year, and things settling down I decided to begin this project. I've decided that the cross will be Akhal Teke x Westphalian warmblood based. In order to be considered for this breed the resulting foal would have to be at least 25% Teke within the first three generations. Generations after third will have to have both parents as the breed. I've worked out the basic breed specifics, but I've been having a little trouble with naming the breed.
I've come up with these possibilities for names: Caughey Warmblood Caughey Sporthorse Prussian Warmblood Prussian Sporthorse Appalachian Warmblood Appalachian Sporthorse Chesapeake Warmblood Chesapeake Sporthorse Penns Warmblood Penns Sporthorse Keystone Warmblood Keystone Sporthorse
I'm avoiding naming it after my home state (Pennsylvania) because it just sounds awful. Do you ladies have any suggestions?

Not helpful, but as a fellow Pennsylvanian I have to vote for something like Penns Warmblood or Keystone Warmblood ;D

I like Chesapeake Warmblood a lot. Way way way back in the day, like 2000-2002, around there.... there was a Simmer named Amanda who did this and had a huge auction board and it was really popular.

Amanda, that was actually very helpful! I like the idea of Keystone Warmblood. Ashlee - that is excellent, honestly I wasn't sure if this would be a popular idea or not. I figured it couldn't hurt to try. Haley - yes, they would be suited for English disciplines. My goal is to produce a warmblood horse who is very athletic, with a strong endurance trait (primarily for Eventing or Combined driving, as that's what my guys will be doing). They'll be a little bit more refined than the Westphalian warmblood is now, and have the potential for that lovely metallic sheen that the Tekes have. They'll be quite eye catching.

I like Chesapeake Warmblood or as Amanda suggested, Keystone Warmblood. Good luck with this love, I can't wait to see the outcome of this program, it's making me want to start thinking of creating a possible new breed lol

I love the idea of a 'sim' breed and love a breed built for eventing, and would definitely be interested if some of these got auctioned off or made available to the public!

I like it! (: I've thought about making my own breed many times before for this RPG game I'm a member of (HARPG on dA, you may have heard of it), but I've never had any good ideas. Oh well, maybe some day ahah. P;

Haley that's so funny - I have heard of HARPG... But My drawing skills are woeful, so I could never get into it. Maybe one day when I can get a tablet. (scanning images that are actually worth makes them turn into shyte). anyway... auction is on the way to being posted
