I just collected results for the first four shows of the ASJA, and discovered it is *far* too easy to for a horse to title given the number of classes they are allowed to compete in.
Instead of adjusting the number of points earned per placing or the number of classes horses can enter (both things which would cause everybody to have more work going back and adjusting results), I changed the # of points to earn titles.
The new system is:
Champion (Ch): 200 - 500 District Champion (DCh): 500 - 700 Area Champion (ACh): 700 - 900 State Champion (SCh): 900 - 1500 Grand Champion (GCh): 1500 - 2000 National Champion (NCh): 2000 - 3000 World Champion (WCh): 3000 - 4000 Hall of Fame (HoF): 4000 - 5000 Hall of Legends (HoL): 5000+
Horses can still earn titles without too much work, but it's not QUITE so easy.
