I'm not sure if there is already a thread about this, there probably is, but I have won a few stud raffles and since I only have TB mares to breed to them, I would like some input on what the resulting foals would be. Thanks.
Hanoverian stallion x Thoroughbred mare Holsteiner stallion x Thoroughbred mare Swedish Warmblood stallion x Thoroughbred mare Iberian Warmblood stallion x Thoroughbred mare
I was told that there are no real names for a breed resulting from these matings, that they would be Hanoverian/TB cross or Holsteiner/TB cross, etc. I wasn't sure if that was right or not. I would hate to have to list the breed as something like that, but I will if it is the right way. I just thought they'd be Hanoverian or Holsteiner, etc. *shrugs*

I believe, because of the warmblood breeding, the resulting foal would go by the warmblood breed. I believe that's the way it works with the warmblood registries...I know quite a few warmbloods now-a-days have some thoroughbred blood in them. So, I would call the foal whatever the sire's breed is (hanovieran, holsteiner, etc.)

If the Thoroughbred is approved by the Warmblood registry, then it'd follow the Warmblood registry. In SIM, I think most (myself included) assume the Thoroughbred is approved with whatever registry it is.
