I am looking at breeding two of my SIM Arabian mares to my SIM Arabian stallion. Unfortunately, I don't know enough about breeding to know what the resulting breeds would be. Could anyone help me? Maksim is a Russian Arabian (sire) Tola RF is a Polish Arabian (first mare) Nashwaa RF is a Straight Egyptian Arabian (second mare) Thanks in advance! Kira

Both foals would be domestic arabians, one would be a polish/russian cross and the other would be a straight egyptian/russian cross. Hope this helps

The one from the Polish could be called Polish Related and the one from the Straight Egyptian would be called an Egyptian Related, if I remember correctly. Otherwise, as Tessa said, you could call them Domestic - which is basically all unknown/mixed heritage Arabians.

Generally related isn't used in regards to Polish, only with Egyptians. I'm not sure how the AHAC determines it, but in HF if the horse is 50% or more Egyptian blood then if is considered Egyptian Related and eligible for the HFAHA Egyptian series. In RL it's if the sire is straight Egyptian and the dam is not, then the foal would be Egyptian Related. I guess it would boil down to what you are looking for in the foal. Since you aren't looking for purity of type, then I would look at the other aspects of the resulting foal. If you are looking for a certain discipline, say the same as what the sire competes in, then I would pair the mare closest to what the sire competes in. If you are looking towards racing or heavy sporting, then I would go with the Polish mare. If they are already similar, then I would look towards whether you want the option of competing in Egyptian series. I hope this helps you!
