How in the World do I host an RCHA Member Held Show!?
Hosting a member held show is simple!
First, decide whether you wish to host a Classic show or Futurity show. If you wish to host a Classic show take a look at this thread, if you wish to host a Futurity show take a look at this thread.
In reply to the main topics you'll see any easy way to copy-paste the full classlist into your post.
Note: The RCHA classlists may not be split up, if you are hosting a show - you must use the full classlist.
So now you've got your thread, and you've got the classlist you wish to use, pasted into it. What next? Well don't forget to make a name for your show of course! Place the show name into the subject of your post and within your post, place the show name at the top of the thread, maybe bolded, maybe in larger text. You decide.
When naming, refrain from using silly names. We don't want to see things like "My Cell Phone Is Ringing Show" or "Tom Cruise Is Sexy Show". These show names are not appropriate. Take a look at the official show schedule to get an idea of what type of name would be acceptable. Feel free to use your barn name in the show name! You're sponsoring the show, so why not get a little recognition for it? Something like "Fiesta Stock Horses Futurity Series I" would be perfectly acceptable. Wait, did I say Series? I did. That means, feel free to host Series shows as well! Want to host a show with three shows in the Series and then a Championship show that horses qualify for through the Series shows? Go for it. The more shows we have, the more activity the RCHA will see and the more points and earnings our horses can gain! Win, win situation for all of us.
So, now you're almost done. If you wish to make an entry closing date, feel free. I find it helps give members a deadline to enter by, so they don't miss out on a show by missing the close date. Please refrain from letting shows be open for more than a month. If a show is open for longer than a month, I will contact the show host and ask them to run and close results. If I cannot get in contact with them, I will close and run the show myself.
Now that you've got an idea for how long the show will be open for, you can post your show and let the entries filter in!
When it's time to run results, the RCHA offers something very special to it's members. Randomizers! The Randomizers automatically code the results for you after you process them. It will include the formatting, points and earnings system and all results in the thread. So all you really need to do is just post the results into a thread.
If you're hosting a Classic show you'll want to use this randomizer, and if you're hosting a Futurity show you'll want to use this randomizer.
And that's it! You've officially hosted your very first RCHA Member Held Show! Or at least, you're in the process of it, right?
In the future, the RCHA is going to be hosting incentives to members who host shows. This will come in a special private auction that will be open to those members who regularly host shows for the RCHA. So, stay tuned for this new and exciting incentive we'll be offering!
