Gotcha Pia, I totaly understand where you are coming from. I feel like, this is a sim game and even though I try to keep as much realism as possible when I play, I also put alot of effort into my horses, studs & broods both, so I need to feel like my studs are getting recognition too, through their awesome foals in the show ring. IRL, people don't "reclaim" horses, LOL ... so sometimes we bend the sim world to fit our needs & wants, and I like that. Heheh. yeah, but thats a little bit different, though. in real life its very rare that a horse will disappear of the face of the earth, and the records of the horse wouldnt be lost if it did. i do alot of things in sim that wouldnt work in rl (like my ageing, and that i dont mind that they age past their parents), but for me, its very important that i keep my rights as the breeder of the foal. i find it very strange that you, as a stallion owner, will make demands as to what words should be in the name (sho or stop), and then you wont even let the breeder of the foal put its brand on it (that could sound a little harsh, but its not meant that way at all, its just a thought. hehe). and the reason is the same as yours... i put a alot into my horses, and i want to get recognition for not only my horses, but also my stable and my breeding program. i actually prefer that people have prefixes or suffixes on babies from my boys, as that way, people know that that foal isnt bred by me, and that its not affiliated with me in any way. although its extremely rare that i allow outside breedings to my boys. but i dont understand what you mean... would the foal be less of a showhorse if it had a F (or M or S or whatever) at the end of its name? would the foal be less awesome? i dont get what you're saying. hehe.

ElshaThanks for the pages, I am sure they look great, but your host is being a beast again this morning and they won't load again. I will see them later, I updated the sire's foaling recs with the URLs. LinHe looks amazing! You are very welcome, and I know he will do wonderfully for you. PiaI didn't expect this to become such a problem. I see this now as a debate about personal preference, which isn't going to get us anywhere. I told you I see your side of things, and I am fine with you not wanting to breed to my stallion, and it's fine if you don't like the way I do things - everyone has their preferences and opinions and we all just play the game together anyways, showing our horses and breeding them and trading them. Sometimes you deal more often with a certain list of people than others, and I think that's fine, too. I don't see the big deal about my conditions because alot of players wanted a foal by my stallion (and my other stallions) regardless, and I am open to a compromise about the abbreviations issue which has satisfied me and other players when breeding our horses, so I think I can safely say it's not really a problem any more. I am certain I am not the first person to have conditions on their stud breedings, nor will I be the last. I wish you would've PM'd me about all this, rather than posting again and again in debate on my Stud thread, but what's done is done. Thank you to everyone who requested Sho Stopper, and good luck with your beautiful new babies! I am sure they'll do really well for you in the show rings and I am excited to see my boy's legacy continue.
His book is now closed, and this thread can be closed now too, thanks admins.
