Hello girls,
As we are gearing up for the 2010 show season, there are a few changes that I want you all to be aware of, and a few I want to remind you of.
First, this is probably the biggest change you will notice, Youth and Classic shows are now split. Classic shows will be for horses aged 4 and up only. Weanlings through 3 year olds will be able to strut their stuff at the Youth shows. Also, a prospect division has been added to Youth shows for weanlings and yearlings.
There are also some small changes to the Classic classlist. Limited divisions are now for horses who have earned less than $350,000 in the RCHA. Novice Limited divisions are now for any horse who is untitled in RCHA.
A new rule has been added to all shows. Owners may not enter more than 15 horses per division. How you divide that up is totally up to you but make sure you have no more than 15 horses in the Open classes of each division.
Breeder's Trust shows will be run once a month, there will be BT bonuses given at those show. Member hosted shows cannot have BT classes. Also please remember that a horse must have 2 actively competing offspring to be nominated for the Breeder's Trust. And, your horse must be listed in the BT rolls to compete in the BT shows.
Good luck to everyone in the upcoming show season.

Does this mean that the rule that if you enter a horse in let's say Jr Stallions Reining they have to enter Open Reining too is dropped?

I have a question too. Does the 15 horses per division count for the Halter classes? I have a broodmare herd (and am about to retire a few mares as well) that I show in Halter within the RCHA and just want to see if I need to split them up or not.

Tessa - I actually hadn't thought of that. I'm not really sure. I'll get back to you on that.
Ashlee - Considering there is only 1 halter class for broodmares in the whole RCHA, I don't really want to see your whole band there. So yes, the rule stands for halter classes as well.

Okay, sounds good to me. I can go ahead and have a couple groups I vary between.
