Well Ladies, Its been an amazing year! Caughey Inc has gone through multiple changes, updates, and a surface update.
First, Congratulations to all our Year End Awards winners! This year we entered more of our horses, and came away with a whooping number of wins. Thank you to those out there who voted for Caughey Inc horses! Without any of you guys, Caughey Inc wouldn't be so awesome. We also came away with Reserve Race farm of the year, and Reserve Owner of the Year. Not only that, but we tied with Tait for Reserve Show Farm of the year! Talk about an accomplishment!
With All that has been going on, Caughey has really increased in size. We started out with a modest establishment, and now we have well over a hundred horses competing under our Name. With this many horses, we've decided its time to retire some of our older, more established competitors, so that we can focus on their offspring. We have over 40 horses retiring this year, but i'd like to highlight a few of our true outstanding boys and girls.
This boy is one of my most prized stallions. HOTY RHOTY Champagne & Roses has proven himself over the years to be both an exceptional competition mount, as well as a stunning sire. We purchased Champ from Joelle when she decided to focus on her Working Western string, and I can't tell you how thrilled we were to finally get our hands on this handsome boy. He has earned a Champion title within the Dressage Association, and earned numerous Champion and Reserve Champion ribbons throughout his career. Its reluctantly that we retire him this year, but at 16 years of age Champ has definitely deserved a rest. We'll be breeding this boy for a few foals, so keep an eye out for them in the show ring!!
Our next retiree is being announced with seriously mixed emotions. We first got this boy back in Equus Unlimited. He was our first boy in the world of Sim, and he is exceptionally close to my heart. HOTY Jaded Triumph is a 4 time HOTY winner, and has been our top competing horse for four years. We first got him when he was a mere 3 years old, and now at 9 years of age, he is gracefully bowing out of the show ring. in Equus Unlimited he was SPT (superior performance tested) accomplished, as well as proud earner of the Lifetime Achievement award (earning over 10,000 EU show points). In 2008 He was voted Horse of the Year for Sr English Horse as well as Sr Eventing Horse. In 2009 he exceeded our expectations and earned Overall warmblood Horse of the Year, as well as Sr Eventing Horse of the year. This is truly an exceptional competition horse, and has proven himself as a sire as well.
These two boys are our most outstanding horses, but we've got a number of truly great horses retiring, and you can see them all here.
Despite retiring so many of our competition kids we still have a very strong show string, and we're very excited to get them showing in 2010. If you'd like to take a peak at our new show string, just check out our site!
With the new year, we're also working on a foal crop to offer for sale. We have a number of great foals already on the ground, and are planning a few more before posting them for sale on this board. Keep an eye out, and you'll likely be seeing these foals at the end of the month.
Thanks for reading, and see all of you in the show ring!!
