Please excuse the book, I love writing lol.
Well, it all started_______
In June of 1999 after Ryan and Kerrie Emerson had gotten married, they decided to someday open their own horse farm. It may be in the next ten weeks, or the next ten years, they didn't really care, so long as eventually they had their own little farm with their four Arabians. They boarded and showed their quartet on the west coast, never getting to Scottsdale, but always doing very well in the local shows with their three geldings and one mare. It all changed in the summer of 2001, when the stable the horses were boarded at burned to the ground from a forest fire. No horses survived the incident, including the Emerson's, and one staff member also perished.
Putting the past behind them, the young couple moved east to South Carolina and by 2005 had ended up with two adorable New Forest Pony mares and a rescue Akhal Teke filly. The two year old filly was in excellent condition however, as her elderly former owner had taken extremelly good care of the youngster before she was forced into a nursing home by family, and also forced to give up her last horse.
In early December of '08, Kerrie and Ryan were still in South Carolina at a boarding barn, and had decided on a name for their future little farm, Hayes End Stud. Everything was rolling along fairly smoothly, despite the fact that they had expanded to ten horses and ponies at a single barn.
But in early February of '09, there was a thread asking to define a sport pony. In that thread there was a question that popped out to the couple. "Who owns Sport Ponies?" That got them to thinking... they didn't know of anyone who did, but they knew they were in good demand despite the economy. The Emerson's were already going over to the UK to take care of Ryan's grandmother's things, why not move there, and start new? Many dollars and much stress later, the entire Emerson herd was at a county fairground temporarily until Kerrie and Ryan could find a suitable property. In late April they found the perfect place that had just come up on the market a few days before. It consisted of 35 acres of already constructed horse property, and they also got the chance to buy a small equestrian center next door for almost nothing. It was going to be torn down for a strip mall, but the funding had fallen through, and now the state of the art facility lay abandoned. The horses and ponies were moved in early May, and the show facilities cleaned and organized.
Now, everything is set, and recently the Centre's first show was held. The ponies are doing extremelly well, and in '10 there will be hopefully three new wonderful sport ponies. Hopefully Aintree Sport Ponies will continue forward, and become known for quality sport ponies. Thank you for reading ^-^
