Please make yourself familiar with the rules, and be sure to follow them. Dogs younger than 15 months will be dq-ed and you will receive a warning. Please note that SAI's warning system DOES apply to dog shows.
Specific Schutzhund Rules
In order to compete in SchH trials, dogs must follow the below age requirements:
B(BH) - 15 months old
SchH/IPO I - 18 months
SchH/IPO II - 18 months
SchH/IPO III - 20 months
FHI- 16 months
FHII - 16 months
It is expected that owners moderate their own dogs - I'm not going to police ages to make sure they're entering in the correct trials... but if I find out a 15month old has been competing in SchH classes and they can only compete in BH, I'm going to eat you.
If your dogs have competed in SchH outside of All sim, their titles are admissible within these shows.
When entering, be realistic! Your Chihuahua isn't going to be able to scale a 6' fence (which s required for higher level trials). Any dog that can realistically perform the trial requirements may compete.
How it Works
With the exception of the BH trial, dogs are required to perform three phases to earn their titles. The first phase is Obedience, in which they must earn a score of 70 or above to pass. The next is Tracking, where the dog is required to follow a scent over a course, again, a score of 70 or better is required to pass. The last, and probably the most recognizable, is Protection. Dogs are required to perform a few different tasks during this phase... From guarding the baiter, to full on "attack". This phase requires a score of 80 or higher to pass. All in all, there are 300 points available for the entire trial, with 220 required for a passing score. If you have any questions feel free to PM me, do not post questions wthin this thread!
Please be sure and copy and paste the previous person's entries!
