...Madrona Park would like to introduce two new 2012 foals: The MockingjayOlympus VE X Inspire Me (X Inspiration) 2012 Homozygous Black Tobiano Sabino Oldenburg suitable for show jumping, eventing and dressage Girl On FireJavelot X Golden Wish2012 Chestnut Sabino RPSI Filly suitable for eventing, show jumping and dressage I want your opinion...should the Mocking Jay be a filly or a colt. I kinda think a filly since those of you who have read the books know who to mocking jay is...but at the same time what a cool stallion prospect. Let me know what you guys think. Also just have to say I LOVE the hunger games books and cannot wait to see the movie. I hopefully get to go sunday! Im so excited! Has anyone seen the movie yet?

I think Jabberjay would make a great colt name but I think "The Mockingjay" also works as a colt. I saw the photos and immediately thought of a colt for some reason.
Hope that helps!
I haven't seen the movie yet. Hoping to go tomorrow as well!

Very nice! I haven't read the books yet (I gotta read some of them that I've already go on the nook before I can get anymore lol), but to me the name The Mockingjay sounds like a colt
I know Ashlee was going to see it today. I haven't seen it yet, but I would like to...probably wait until it comes out on dvd though and just buy it or put it on my netflix list.

Mocking Jay should be a colt. Very pretty. [Yes, I've read the books, but that foal just looks like a colt. )

Thanks you guys for the replys. It sounds like everyone thinks a colt would be best. I agree and you all are good because the r/l horse is in fact a colt.
The books are super incredible. I couldnt imagine the second book being good after how good the first one was but they just got better and better.
Sorry Ashlee I feel bad I even searched for the name to make sure nobody used it yet because I loved it so much. The movie was just pretty good??? I cannot wait to see it still, but I know the movies never live up to the books huh?
Wow Dee you must read crazy fast....it took me a couple days to finish them. I read the first, then went and bought the next two together because I knew I would not be putting them down.
Let me know if anyone has any interest in more foals because I was thinking about breeding a couple more...I have few more name ideas from the books but of course that could be left up to you as well.

I'm always interested in bringing in lines I don't have... So if you decided to breed anymore I would definitely look!

I claim the name Panem lol. That and Mockingjay were the names I was going to go with lol.
And I said pretty good, but I guess that's probably an understatement. I loved the movie, the acting was great and they didn't cut out a ton of stuff from the book like some book-to-movie adaptations out there. They did cut out Madge and her father and if you haven't read the books you'd be clueless about the "thank you" signal. But besides that it was excellent. I just wish they would've been able to apply the true point that Collins made you feel throughout the book - that the Capital is bad bad bad but to survive Katniss has to please them and make them love her. In the movie when you see the people from the Capital all you see is a bunch of faceless people hysterically clapping and cheering. You don't see the fact that they're utterly oblivious to life outside the Capital and the fact that they live under a dictatorship rule. But it's a movie and I can understand where some of the underlying tones that Collins had in her books would be hard to capture on screen as it's a feeling you get and not something that can be easy to "show" (easier to "describe").
